We believe in a future vision of UK healthcare where patients don’t experience a gap between primary and secondary care. Where the surgery is a place to receive care and advice from both GP and specialist. Where care is both informed by the latest evidence and tailored to an individual's needs. This vision would mean that patients receive their care as close to home as possible and that the care, stripped of unnecessary variation, is the most appropriate for their condition. It would mean that care in hospitals would be only be given to the sick who required complex interventions or diagnostics. Those patients that needed to go to hospital would be seen quicker and more efficiently as waiting lists are shorter. GPs and specialists would work together sharing the burden of deciding whether a patient should be seen in hospital. GPs and specialists would gain a better understanding of each other’s working lives and joint consultations would provide excellent learning opportunities. Not only does this vision produce the best care for patients it delivers the most cost effective healthcare. Stripped of unnecessary variation and waste, the best healthcare can be delivered for less than 50% of current resources. Cinapsis is committed to delivering that vision.
